Athletic Programs:  Work with printer, Booster Executive Board and athletic office to coordinate ads and photos of sports teams and coaches for each athletic season (fall, winter and spring), along with Booster information and administrative content.  Prepare solicitation of advertising and copy ready ads, price list, and informational letter.  Sell advertising for seasonal sports programs, generally in late spring to mid-summer.  Gives a copy of the program to each athlete and send thank you letters and copies of each program to all advertisers.  Coordinate with Treasurer for deposits and payment to printer.

Booster BBQ:  Held annually the Thursday of Homecoming Week, this community focused event precedes the school Pep Rally. Chairperson(s) secure food service (paid or donated), sets pricing, sells tickets, determines location (indoor or outdoor), publicize event, decorate area, coordinate volunteers to set up, serve food and clean up.  Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank, reimbursement and deposits. Work with school Assistant Principal Operations regarding placement of tent, chairs and tables. This is meant to be a community event and not a fundraiser but should break even with expenses.

Booster Bucks:  Chairman works with Manna Group Inc. to order gift cards/certificates from various businesses to be sold through Boosters members. Weekly orders are placed and a percentage of the sales is returned to the school. Families can designate a specific sport, activity or club to receive the profit. Chairperson(s) maintain detailed records of purchases, student’s activity/club/sport, finances and spread sheet of available items for purchase. Maintain a “Quick Bucks” inventory for sales at specific school events. Provide information for website/alerts as needed and copies of order forms for main office at school. Coordinate with Treasurer for deposits and payments

Buy-A-Brick:  Publicizes and processes orders for engraved bricks to be installed in the patio on the north side of the school.  Works with APO and brick contractor to coordinate new installations and maintenance of the patio as needed.

Concessions Coordinator(s):  Oversees all areas of concessions.  Works with purchasing coordinator for supplies, food, ice etc.  Works with volunteer coordinator for each sport to verify coverage, including opening and closing. Requests or delegates request for cash box/bank, prepares deposits.  Oversees and maintains both the indoor and outdoor concession stand. 

Concessions Purchasing:  Works closely with Concessions Coordinator.  Responsible for shopping for concessions through various vendors.  Help deliver, unpack, and set up concession stands as needed.  Assists in maintenance of the indoor and outdoor concession stands, including cleaning cooking utensils, aprons and towels. Be at all home football games to help with set-up and clean-up.  Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank, reimbursement and deposits.

Concessions Volunteers Coordinators:  Specific to each sport this person coordinates the schedule of parent volunteers to “work” the concession stand.  Uses e-mail or telephone for reminders.

Drama Concessions:  Provides simple concessions for purchase during intermission of the school musical and play.  Items include bottled water, cookies and may include flowers.  Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank, reimbursement and deposits.

Floral Symphony:  Generally held in late February or early March, this music fundraiser is co-sponsored by Glenbard West High School and alternates between the two schools. Recruit florists who design arrangements during the event which are raffled off to attendees. Chairperson(s) create and distribute tickets to music families, create program, manage publicity, student escorts and musicians, parent volunteers, site location coordination, and refreshments for florists. Works closely with the Music Department chair at South and the Band and Orchestra designated parents from Glenbard West. Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank, reimbursement and deposits.

Golf Outing:  Held annually in early summer, (just after school is out) this fund-raising event invites all golfers (parents, friends & staff) to enjoy a day golfing, have dinner and take a chance on raffle baskets/prizes. Provide flyer/info for newsletter and at school.  Secure location, set pricing, choose menu, secure “hole” sponsors, prizes, goodie items and raffle items.  Insurance for “hole in one” if applicable. (Held every other “odd” year, i.e.: 2009, 2011, 2013.)

Hospitality:  Provide hospitality for several school events and Booster needs.  In November and May, with National Education week and Teacher Appreciation Week, this committee provides food for the GSHS staff to enjoy in the teacher lounge.

LRC Volunteers:  Work with School to recruit volunteer parents to assist in the LRC during school hours.  Help with special events if requested.

Music Liaison:  Work with music department to provide monthly reports at Booster meetings, covering needs, events and accomplishments of the music department.  

Newsletter: Receive articles from officers and committees for input into newsletter.  Format and submit for review by Co-Presidents and principal.  Dates/deadlines coordinated with the Executive Board.  Send newsletter to website chair for posting.  Work with copy/mailing volunteers to execute mailing.  Request address labels from the office staff and schedule copy & mailing of the newsletter and use of work room.  Provide copies to staff mailboxes and mail copies to non-parent booster members. *(Currently, the newsletter is published twice yearly in late summer and January.) 

Parent Social - Fall: Open home to Booster parents for a fun, social evening.  Provide beverages and paper goods.  Prepare flyer for distribution at registration and Open House (depending on the date).  Guests pay $5/person and bring appetizers.  Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank, reimbursement and deposits.

Parent Social - Winter: Secure location and plan activity, timing, pricing, and refreshments.   Determine need for raffle or silent auction items. Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank, reimbursement and deposits.

Pasta Diner/Pack the House:  Annual event held in January/February in coordination with a home basketball (girls and boys) game night.  Coordinate date and details with Athletic Director.  Choose caterer, order food, set pricing, coordinate volunteers for set-up, serving, clean up.  Determine decorations and develop publicity.  Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank, reimbursement and deposits.

Post Prom:  Held annually after school sponsored Prom.  This event provides a safe alternative for students to continue their special evening.  Work with school for date.  

Publicity:  Oversee publicity of Booster events for local media outlets (including school), newspapers and District 87. Coordinate with committee chairs for details and emails electronically to Booster members and media. 

Raffle Coordinator:  This position coordinates ALL raffle solicitation for the entire year.  Coordinate with chair people for the Fashion Show and any other fundraising event during the year which offers raffle prizes.  Letters of solicitation are sent to businesses in the community asking for financial or in-kind donations.  Donations are coordinated into prize baskets for events, or used as silent auction items. It is hoped that this position lowers the chances of over-soliciting area merchants by the Boosters.  This committee should include several members to assist with door to door requests, a computer spread sheet of donors and thank you notes.

Raider Pride Night:  Held in fall at a Friday night football game this event encourages community spirit, with a special focus on the feeder schools.  Fliers are provided for the feeder elementary & middle schools.  Decorations are added to the stadium and favors can be given to younger students who attend. Elementary & middle school students receive free admission when wearing their school shirts/colors.

Raider Wear:  This committee orders all manner of spirit wear: t-shirts, sweatshirts, clothing and miscellaneous Glenbard South/Raider gear for students, parents and staff.  Maintain and create a saleable inventory, with an emphasis on school colors.  Order from vendors and coordinate with school bookstore and Stacy’s Corners store in Glen Ellyn for storage and sales.  Provide order form for website and school office.

Raider Spirit Yard Signs: Coordinates with coaches of all sports to order yard signs to promote school spirit. Designs signs for appropriate sport/activity, provides order forms to students through coaches, collects fee, submits orders and distributes yard signs when completed.

Senior Showcase:  Typically held annually in the spring at a local banquet facility, this fund-raising event features students in the senior class. Chairperson(s) coordinate many subcommittees, including models, store fashions, commentary, ticket sales, program, DJ, choreography, and silent auction/raffle baskets. (Detailed notebook w/ideas, suggestions, previous reports available.)  Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank, reimbursement and deposits.

Split the Pot:   Maintain supply of raffle tickets, coordinate ticket sales with three to four sellers at home football games and Pack the Place Basketball Game. Count money and keep press box aware of money received during first half of the game.  Bring all tickets to press box and ask one of the coaches or announcers to pull a ticket.  Announce the winner at the start of 3rd quarter and ask winner to bring winning ticket to the booth.  Coordinate with Treasurer for cash boxes/bank and deposits.

Senior Awards Event:  The Senior Awards Event in late May will honor seniors only at an event coordinated with the GS administration. Awards will include academics, athletics, music, drama, extra-curricular and fine arts. Coordinates budget, invitations, responses and a light refreshment reception held at the school.

Three on Three Basketball:  This fundraising event generally occurs on one weekend in March and provides elementary and middle school students a chance to compete in a simple three on three basketball tournament.  Coordinate team registration, t-shirts, concessions, score keepers, time keepers, monitors and volunteers.   Publicize through athletic department, at feeder schools and in community. Coordinate with Treasurer to secure cash boxes/bank and prepare deposits as needed. 

Vision and Hearing Screening:  Specific to each sport, this person coordinates the schedule of parent volunteers to “work” the concession stand.  Uses e-mail or telephone for reminders.

Webmaster:  Responsible for Booster website content.  Works with President, Executive Board and Chairperson(s) of various committees to create an accurate, informative website.

President: The President shall preside at all meetings of the Organization; he/she shall be an ex-officio member of all committees; and shall perform other duties as may be prescribed in the by-laws, or assigned by the Executive Board. Honor retirees and memorialize staff who have passed away within the year with an inscribed brick. See President checklist in former binder for complete responsibility list.

1st VP: The 1st Vice President shall perform the duties of the President in his/her absence or inability to serve, shall be chair of the By-Laws Revision Committee and chair of the Nominating Committee. He/she shall prepare the Booster Board Committee list, provide folder of materials for each committee, help recruit Booster Board Chairs and set up/maintain the Booster Board electronic communication (e-mail) group. He/she shall also serve as Parliamentarian of the Organization and holder of all committee reports.

2nd VP: The 2nd Vice President shall perform the duties of the 1st Vice President in the absence or inability to serve, and shall be Chair of the Membership Committee, the Alumni Committee and Scholarship Committee, as needed. He/she shall set up and maintain the general Booster electronic communications group. Will oversee student alumni communications.

Secretary: The Secretary shall keep a record of the proceedings of the Organization meetings, which shall be presented for approval; shall be custodian of the Organization records, policy and procedures and all other special papers; shall take care of all Organization correspondence. Administers the “Buy a Brick Program” and the Jerry Weinstein Award Committee.

Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be custodian of all funds of the Organization, disbursing same at the direction of the Executive Board or Booster Board.  He/she shall make monthly reports as called for and coordinate all financial activities of all committees. Shall prepare annual budget for approval.
